Valknüt is a Norse fantasy tabletop game I developed from the ground up—spanning logo design, character illustration, board layout, and full game mechanics. My process moved from branding and world-building into card systems, gameplay balance, and final fabrication, blending mythic storytelling with practical design to deliver a polished, playable experience.

The foundation of Valknüt was built around strong, mythic branding. I developed the logo system by combining Norse rune-lore with bold, geometric shapes to create a mark that felt both ancient and modern. From there, I designed a full roster of illustrated characters—each rooted in Norse fantasy but stylized for tabletop playability. The board design balanced epic storytelling with functional clarity, creating an immersive play surface that communicates theme while staying mechanically clean.

With the brand world in place, I built out a complete card deck system—illustrating assets, designing layouts, and ensuring mechanics were intuitive and balanced for 2–4 players. Every element, from the typography to the hierarchy of icons, was tested for both clarity and storytelling. Once the system was finalized, I fabricated prototypes of the deck and board, working through material, scale, and production considerations to bring the game from digital concept to physical experience.
